Um, an anti-rec?

Am watching the pilot of The Shadow Line. You know how English thrillers are usually fairly subtle? And assume the audience are intelligent and don't need to be spoonfed information? I think this one may have gone a bit mad over the top? I am very confused, though having just read the review I linked to, I am a bit more enlightened and...not inspired to watch anymore. I don't normally trust reviews, but I find myself in agreement with a few points already, not the least being wtf Rafe Spall's shitty acting. Oh, Rafe, you are so much better than this.
