I AM ABOUT TO BE VERY BRAVE.

I would have liked to have been blessed with adventurous taste buds. I *LIKE* to try new things…unfortunately I often don’t like them.

Lately I’ve been trying to not choose the meat option for my midday meals, and in the spirit of this new resolution I just bought a baguette from Miss Mauds that is: tuna, feta, avocado, sundried tomatoes and dill sauce. I'm a bit worried about that combination of ingredients. In fact, given I’m not a fan of dill I’m a bit terrified.

When I got to the counter there was a mob of old people all vying to be served – it wasn’t pretty. I waited. After they’d all left I was approached by a server with that unmistakeable expression in her eyes of the hospitality worker who’s lost all hope and possibly the will to live.

Me *conspiratorily* Wow, that was a lot of cranky old people. I was afraid to move until they left.
Server *eyes me, clearly deciding whether to trust me*
Me *smiles sympathetically*
Server *smiles* OMG they are always like that! They think we’re not trying to serve them!
Me – Because clearly you’re all standing around chatting.
Server – I know, right? *procedes to very cheerful and helpful*

Yum! Try new things more often. It often results in deliciousness.

What's with eating less meat at lunch? Is it environmental concerns? Are you reducing your carbon footprint? Did I miss a memo?

I am one of those on the Front Line. *weeps inconsolably*

Go for trying new things! I too am being brave with my sandwich choice for lunch, by spreading it with Avocado instead of mayo, which is brave since I don't particularly like Avocado. But it's supposed to be good for you, and has to be better than mayo.

Was it nice? Aside from the tuna, it sounds good. I often have dill sauce, halloumi and veggies, with wasabi. You gotta like dill I guess though :-D

I was going to answer this! and then I thought I'd make a post and then TIME HAPPENED!

A large part of it is environmental, but I am also making an effort to eat more healthily, including more fish in my diet.

I'm not a fan of dill, sadly. I chickened out and dabbed all the sauce off that I could see, with a tissue, and that worked out okay.

I got it again a week later without the sauce and that worked out well.

Voice of experience: avocado's so bland, after a while you stop noticing it. Then you get extra vege at no extra effort.

and since I wrote that, we haven't had ava's in, since they're around $3/4 each at the moment, and our owners are very stingy. :(
