1.01 Everything Changes (Russell T Davies)
Not one of my favourites, but a decent pilot and introduces the characters.

1.03 Ghost Machine (Helen Raynor)
Awesome character ep.

1.06 Countrycide (Chris Chibnall)
The scariest Torchwood episode.

1.10 Out of Time (Catherine Treganna)

1.12 Captain Jack Harkness (Catherine Treganna)
One of my all time favourite episodes of anything, ever.

2.01 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Chris Chibnall)
Not a great plot, but introduces Captain John Hart, played by James Marsters, who's always fun, and some lovely Jack/Ianto interaction. I heart Ianto.

2.03 To the Last Man (Helen Raynor)
Awesome Tosh episode.

2.11 Adrift (Chris Chibnall)
Excellent plot, well written Gwen ep.

2.12 Fragments and 2.13 Exit Wounds (Chris Chibnall)
Captain John Hart returns. Fantastic double episode. EPIC.

I found Countrycide a bit frustrating (but even frustrating Torchwood is still better than none!)

FWIW, I quite liked Small Worlds for the plot and fx, and Greeks Bearing Gifts for being a Tosh episode.

And gosh, YES, Captain Jack Harkness is one of the best episodes of anything ever, for sure.

I debated about including Countrycide because it is flawed, and Cricketk isn't big on scary stuff anyway. But it was the ONLY scary Torchwood ep, and I liked the intensity, and the interesting character interactions, esp the Gwen/Owen.

I liked Small Worlds too - especially the unhappy ending. I love that Torchwood makes the hard choices. I also liked Jack's relationship with the old lady. Hee! You know you're totally spoilt when you're happy to see proof that your bisexual hero actually does like women too. *g*

I really liked Greeks Bearing Gifts for being a Tosh episode. She was so underutilised, you know, until the last ep!

I think Countrycide would be great if it sort of wasn't Torchwood - it doesn't really fit with the series, and the 'we are out in the country so lets act like oversexed teenagers' bit is just way too Torchword and fits badly with the rest of the episode.

My favourite episode of season 1 is 'The Keep Killing Suzie', which I really liked the plot - and I didn't like Out of Time much (probably had too much Owen in it).

I probably should have included They Keep Killing Suzie *sigh* I don't know why I did not love that as much as everyone else did.

Hmm, I choose:
1x05: Small Worlds - the moral ambiguity.
1x07: This was the episode that made me love Tosh, even though her characterisation is so inconsistant.
1x10: Out of time - I like the idea of being a stranger in a familiar land.
1x12: Captain Jack Harkness - Is there a slasher that wouldn't pick this one? Though parts of the episode annoyed me. Writing in blood ftw?
2x12: Fragments - Backstory for the win. Particularly Tosh.
