The hotel does an excellent breakfast for $10 if you package it with your room. I may possibly have stolen a bowl of Nutrigrain for Bunny, but it's not like I ate much. What?

Went and minded the artshow for a couple of hours and then wandered down to watch Trailer Park where [livejournal.com profile] angriest and his mates showed us trailers for upcoming films, some look excellent, like the one with Jackie Chan and Jet Li (omg!) and some that just made us go wtf? like The Lost Boys sequel, or the Belgian film starring Jean Claude Van Damme as HIMSELF all washed up and in the middle of a custody battle!!!

Then I went to Rob Shearman's Book Launch and Q & A and he read us an endearing little short story. And Rob was like, if you want to buy my book I'll sign it for you...I'll sign anything: books, body parts... except I couldn't buy it then cos I had no cash and by the next day it was sold out. You get that.

Then I wandered past the registration desk and [livejournal.com profile] fred_mouse looked like she could do with a break so I got a crash course in taking money from people and then sat at the desk for an hour or so, along with a big scary looking guy, who only talked to me if I asked him a direct question and then sat and ate a entire block of chocolate without offering me any *is sad* .

Lunch, then late to Theatre Sports, where people were all excited and having lots of fun. Decided to go put in some time in the kids' room instead. Cuddled [livejournal.com profile] fred_mouse and [livejournal.com profile] artisnat's youngest a lot. In fact, pretty much any time I haven't accounted for I was snuggling her, there's something irresistable about a small child who's face lights up when they see you and would rather sit quietly and cuddle than play.

Conveniently, [livejournal.com profile] ddpm's annual Video Quiz was close by and next so off I went, to be joined by [livejournal.com profile] psycho_tabby, [livejournal.com profile] mr_booboo, Dragonfly and Jody. None of us came even close to winning, but all Boo and Dragonfly cared about was that they beat me and Tabby. They are so competitive omg! And I got all the Dr Who monsters right except the giant furry condoms! It was a lot of fun!

What you should have been watching: 1988 was in the same room so hung about for that. What I learnt was 1988 was not a good year for films. Also, one of the panellists failed to show up, so not really a highlight.

Then it was dinner and getting ready for the Heroes and Villains Ball. Which actually meant throwing on a cocktail dress and taking Bunny down to see all the costumes and then spending half an hour in the foyer making sure she didn't damage the dalek or anything else before the doors opened. My favourite costumes were the Weeping Angels from Blink, and they posed for ages around the TARDIS for people taking photos.

Ran into [livejournal.com profile] ddpm as I was chasing Bunny out the door and yelled 'back in a minute', so of course Bunny ran face first into the hotel counter, so it was back to the room for half an hour for repairs. Then I spent a good while on the dance floor throwing small children around until it was time for the Costume Parade and then the children went away somehow and I danced a lot with [livejournal.com profile] artisnat and [livejournal.com profile] bardigrub.

After a while I requested Tainted Love. Well, obviously. They were playing Rage Against the Machine, so I was a bit worried that Soft Cell would empty the dancefloor, but in fact when it came on a lot more people came and danced. Ha!

It was my turn to go home and pet-sit.

OMG, the weeping angels costumes look really creepy! Great pic of you two on the dance floor, too.

Thanks for the recap!

They were AWESOME and they didn't even get an mention in the costume judging.

A mate of mine walked into the dimly lit room and glanced to the side, saw the angel, looked away automatically and then glanced back and the angel was claws outstretched, snarling. She screamed!!!

Hee! That's awesome! I can't believe they weren't even mentioned. The hell?

The team that won win most years because they go to a ton of effort. They're the creatures from Where the Wild Things Are in the piccies. And the honourable mention was The King and Sara from Labrynth and they did an entire dance, so *shrug*

Well, if you're going to 'fess up, I may as well name names!

Oh and you got that Bunny's the tall kid behind me with the bandaged toe, right? The other one's the little one who likes cuddles and being thrown around a lot.

Yeah -- that was either two kids or one very, um, limber kid. *g*
