I AM BURSTING WITH FANNISH GLEE. BURSTING, I SAY.

I volunteered to watch episodes 7-11 of The Persuaders to check to see if there was another scene with one of the guys kneeling in front of the other, as joandarck is making a songvid and thought there might be one in that block of eps.

Selflessly doing my bit for fandom!!!

I thought I may as well list all of the slashy bits as I went along, um, so I did. BUT.

BUT. I never dreamed of this!!!

Danny is sitting down Brett walks up behind him and holds out a paper for Danny to take. Danny reaches up and RUNS HIS FINGERS DOWN THE LENGTH OF BRETT'S HAND before taking the paper. Brett then leans closely over Danny to read the paper.

ACTUAL. DELIBERATE. CARESS.


I am beside myself with joy. I may be a bit invested


Edit As you can probably tell by zebra363's enthusiastic commenting spree, my absolute first response was to call her up and babble. In fact I was so excited I accidently dialed her number on my mobile while I was looking it up and then couldn't work out for a minute why I was getting an engaged signal calling her on the landline.

The episode has only 53% fallen off the back of the truck. However, in the interim I've watched Five Miles to Midnight, which has some good moments!

He kind of tucks his chin into Danny's shoulder, too. I think that was the episode where I decided they were Unquestionably Doing It. That whole thing on the sofa with their feet by each other's heads as they smoke? !!!

I want to insist you watch the original English version, but as I can't judge whether the German dubs are in fact as good as people on persuaders71 claim I don't really have that right. *angsts*

Apparently the script for the German version is very, very different and more silly.

It's really hard to interpret the sofa scene and the caress in any other way than Unquestionably Doing It.

I just watched Nuisance Value now and liked it nearly as much as The Long Goodbye this afternoon and That's Me Over There before that!

I was trying to eat dinner to the start of Nuisance Value, where Brett arrives at the hotel and Danny says, "You look terrific. You look wonderful. Really nice," etc etc. It was so slashy I had to give up on eating and just sit there and stare and laugh with glee!

And he's going to have a long bath while Danny lays out his clothes! And then he tells Danny he DOESN'T NEED CLOTHES TO GO TO BED. I mean. Really. Their private life is pretty much right out there.

I'll definitely watch it in English. Even a good dub is never quite as good as the original version.
