There's big winds with bursts of rain. I call it stormy-curling-up-in-bed-with good fic weather. Have sudden craving to reread my printout of 'The Fire and the Rose'. (that fabulous Hermione/Snape bodyswap fic). But am stymied by failure to actually locate the damn thing. Must have inexplicably lent it someone. That'll learn me.

sulks

Am off wallow in Predatrix instead.

Speaking up in defence of the printout...

(well, sort of). I have printed out exactly two slash stories in a year and a half of obsessive reading, so I am so not an authority on the matter. That said, you simply can't curl up with the PC in bed. Even a laptop is pushing it. For snuggling up under covers when it's wet and stormy you need a book or a printout.

I followed the link, btw, and my god girl! You printed all that? No wonder you're grieving!!

It's a bit hard to read the screen from where I was snuggled up under doonas in bed.

Also. Read the story. I officially rec it to YOU, Zebra, you who is doubtful about the hp fandom....

I have much hp printed out, see, it's not self indulgent when you have a mate who has very limited internet access and no computer at all at home. It's hard to believe there are people that deprived. :)

But did you read the story? It's fanfuckingtastic!

Maybe you need a laptop. I'm so used to reading at the computer that printed slash still feels kind of strange, though I did print out a lot on my Sentinel kick.

OK, I'll put this on my list. I'm reading Em Brunson's Dancing on Glass series right now - Casey sick with a blood disorder, not my usual but very compelling!

the infamous

Should I be worried? I'm only up to the start of Part 3 (and trying to find a good place to stop for the night). I know it's an unfinished WIP.

Not as long as you can accept that it'll never be finished.

We were reading it back when it was being posted part by part and then..it stopped. There were many hints that she was still writing it, bits apparently being sent to her email group...but NO.

YEARS we spent in ever dwindling hope..

It was the first time I invested so much in a WIP and put me off reading them at all for many years.

Fab story though.

The unfinished WIP part is definitely not a plus, but as long as I know about it ahead of time I don't mind too much (e.g. Monica's Domesticity Series). I try not to read current-ish-WIPs where I'm left actively hoping for the next instalment (Killa's Darkest Hour being the exception, and that's not looking too promising).

Must go to bed soon.

Uh huh. Sure you will.

At least Dancing on Glass has them getting together, as I remember, I think the last chapter was supposed to be mostly Casey getting well, and them dealing with getting together. I'm sure there would have been lots of lovely sex.

Oh well.

Going to bed now.

But I just looked ahead to the end of the last part, and it seems to be Casey having a relapse! Sequel desperately needed.

A RELAPSE!!!

OMG no wonder we were all so traumatised. I must have blocked it from my mind out of self defence!

Well, I'm going to be trying to do exactly that. Have just finished Parts 4 & 5 and have to say that she left it at just about the worst place imaginable. Grrr. No more WIPs for me!!
