How was I supposed to know it would become slashy? Not everything you write about is slashy. OK, lots of it is, but not all. And you tend to slash things which, well, are somewhat modern and often set themselves up for it, so it's no real surprise.
There I was, quietly reading LJ, when I saw something about growing up watching Hogan's Heroes and think "me, too!".... "elaborately constructed fantasy epic" sounds really cool and literary.... and then suddenly ... ewwww! Please tell me you didn't do anything with Maxwell Smart and Hymie.
