I wrote a 7000 word, plot focussed, Leverage/Keen Eddie crossover fic in three days, and submitted it, betaed, well within the deadline.



I finally realised that I don't write for fun, but I do have fun writing. I need motivation - a challenge, a deadline, or a complete lack of fic to READ in whatever fandom I happen to be obsessed with (because I'm lazy and I don't need to write it if I can read it).

I am the worst at procrastinating...right up until the last possible second I judge I can get something done by the deadline. Years of being a manager have finally given me a skill that overcomes my absolutely shit student study habits.

...in other words it's not so much drive or desire so much as it is compulsion to meet deadline or perish trying.
